The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane Literature Unit

By Kate DiCamillo

Edward Tulane was a rabbit, a china rabbit. He lived in a house on Egypt Street, with a girl named Abilene. Edward, like many of us do, took Abilene and love of family for granted. Edward's journey to understanding and appreciating love and friendship began after he was lost at sea while traveling with Abilene and her family.

Throughout the story, Edward is lost and found many times. He meets many people along the way. Each person he meets touches Edward in a special way. Through these experiences, Edward comes to understand the meaning of friendship and love.

Will Edward make his way back to Abilene? Students will definitely want to read to find out!
